Recording who has arrived, and who can see it.
Manage → Check-in, under Event day on your own event. It is built to be used standing at a table with a phone, one participant at a time.
Every participant with a live entry has a card of their own: pending, approved and waitlisted entries. Withdrawn and rejected entries are not on it. Each card saves on its own, so there is no page-wide Save button to forget.
Press Check in when a participant arrives. The card shows Checked in, and the time is kept. If two phones check the same participant in, the first arrival time is the one that stays.
Undo takes a check-in back off, and asks first.
The cards are split into two groups:
A participant moves to Done the moment they are checked in, and back again if it is undone. The confirmation message says when a card has moved, so it never looks as though it vanished.
Both groups are sorted by last name. Find a participant… at the top searches both groups at once, because the person in front of you may be one you already checked in.
Nothing is required. A participant who has not been checked in is simply somebody nothing has been recorded for — before the event that is the ordinary state.
The screen updates itself every few seconds, so work done on another phone shows up without reloading.
Any time — check-in often opens the day before, and you can still correct things after the event has run. Only a canceled event stops you recording anything.
Your participants each see their own check-in, with the time, on their entry on the event page, once you have recorded it.
Nobody else sees it. A check-in is never shown on the public event page, the competitor list or anybody's profile.
What you record also prints on the roster sheet under Manage → Paperwork, and there is a Print the roster link at the top of this screen.
