About BoutHost

Event management for combat sports — hosts run events, fighters enter them, and federations confirm the cards they have sanctioned.

What BoutHost Is

BoutHost is a platform for running amateur combat-sports events. An organizer creates a card, publishes it, and takes entries; a competitor finds that card, enters it, and declares the weight they intend to compete at. Anyone can browse published events without an account.

It covers boxing, muay thai, kickboxing and MMA.

Who Runs It

BoutHost is built and operated by Webpoint Technologies, who also build the membership and sanctioning systems used by national governing bodies in combat sports. That is why you can sign in here with your existing federation account, and why an event already sanctioned in one of those systems can be brought across rather than typed in twice.

Who It Is For

Anyone can sign up, choose their own roles and create an event — you do not need to be an established promoter, and you do not need a federation account. That is deliberate. The independent club running one ring in a gym is as much the intended user as a federation-sanctioned regional card.

⚠️ What a Sanction on BoutHost Means

This is the part worth reading carefully, because it is easy to assume more than we say.

An organizer may name the federation that sanctioned their event. Until that is confirmed, BoutHost shows it as the organizer’s own claim, marked as unconfirmed. The federation’s mark — the badge, the tick, the words “Sanctioned by” — appears only once the claim has actually been confirmed, either by a BoutHost administrator or automatically against the federation’s own record.

An event with no sanction at all is a perfectly legitimate thing to run, and nothing on the platform styles it as a problem.

The same principle runs through everything here. A fighter’s win/loss/draw record is what they typed about themselves, and it says so. An official named on a card is a name the organizer entered, and nothing has checked their credentials. BoutHost reports what it can stand behind and marks the rest as a claim.

What Works Today

  • Creating, publishing, editing and canceling events.
  • Importing an already-sanctioned event from Webpoint, and re-syncing it when the federation’s record changes.
  • Registration, including opening and closing on a schedule, host review and fighter withdrawal.
  • A public event page with the schedule, the competitor list and the sanction status.
  • Browsing what is coming up — searching by name, and narrowing by state, town, discipline, date and whether entries are open — with events that have already taken place on a page of their own.
  • Per-day schedules, event officials, and event posters.
  • Matchmaking — pairing approved entries into a numbered bout card, and releasing it to the public event page.
  • A public profile for everyone competing or running events, searchable by name or gym — with less shown for competitors under 18, and a way to report one.
  • Telling your fighters who they are matched against once the card is out, and telling the rest that it is out.
  • Inviting fighters from the public directory to enter your event.
  • A weigh-in desk for event day — each fighter’s weight and who has arrived — and printable ringside paperwork with a spreadsheet download of each sheet.
  • Maps and directions to the venue, adding an event to your calendar, sharing it, and a preview image for each event when you post the link.
  • Copying an event’s details into a new one, and deleting an event nobody has entered.
  • Messages between members, with blocking and reporting, and notices inside BoutHost as well as by email — including reminders before an event you have entered.
  • Email to everyone entered when a card is canceled, moved, or its schedule changes.

⚠️ What We Are Working On

This section describes what does not exist yet. Everything above is built; everything below is not.

Taking payment. A host can state an entry fee on their event today, and BoutHost collects none of it — no money moves, to them or to us. Payment is arranged directly between the host and the competitor. The groundwork is in place, and when it is switched on each host will be the merchant of record for their own event, paid through Stripe. Until then, treat a fee shown on a card as an advertised price and nothing more.

Results. You can build and publish a bout card today, and BoutHost does not record who won. There is nowhere to enter a result, and no fighter record on this site changes after a bout. What is missing is not the form — it is the answer to who is allowed to confirm a result, which is being worked out with the federations, because a confirmed result is meant to reach their own records rather than only ours. When that lands, an organizer will not have to enter the same result twice.

Verified membership. Today a competitor’s federation membership is shown, but nothing checks standing or eligibility at the point of entry.

We are not putting dates on any of this. The page is dated instead, so you can see how current it is.

Questions

The Help Center covers how the platform works, for hosts and for competitors alike. For a question about a specific event, the organizer of that event can see and change everything about their own card.
